Roger, this being the Sphere I was taking it for granted that all our efforts would be brilliant in all aspects!

I currently have a "purple" seven-liner, though the last line looks -- at present -- to be a bit of the proverbial spare whatsit at the nuptials. But the patient, albeit surplus to requirements, seems deserving of surgery.

Am grateful for the offer of your Guide Dog and white stick. But I am close to being a hopeless case.

Could "silver" be the unreachable Final Frontier? To boldly go anywhere near it seems to require the teaming of Ogden Nash, WS Gilbert and Tom Lehrer. And then some!

No. You only need to go to the Isle of Anglesey

Martin, I once encountered a person called Chilver. Chilver is also dialect for 'ewe lamb'. And there was a fairly recent (?Italian ) singer called Milva.

Ha! I see we're not supposed to post pieces on this thread, so have withdrawn the offending limerick. Martin, not sure why you are assuming all six lines have to rhyme on the same word.

Jerome, That's a start. But can you maintain the "silver" rhyme through lines 3 & 4 -- and then add a sixth line?
This is the Sphere, after all! No shirking!

And, though I hate to say it, I think names might be a bit of a cop-out! But apart from all that . . . ! A Len Goodman SEVERNNN.

Good Luck.

I have a surfeit of "silver" poems in my submission.

Martin, there are only three things to do on the Light submission page:

(1) Fill in the "title." In that space, write "Impossible Rhymes"

(2) Write something where it says "cover letter." The only thing you have to be sure to do there is write your name and contact information. Bio material is useful if you are someone Melissa doesn't know, but I think Melissa knows who you are so you could safely skip that part for now.

(3) Attach the file with your poems. Make sure you don't put your name in the submission.

And that's all.

If you prefer, you can also do snail mail:

Roger, many thanks for helping the others with their submissions... If anyone has further questions, feel free to email lightpoetrymagazine@gmail.com.

And yes: as with all other Light submissions, we're looking for verse that's well-crafted and funny.... i.e. the sort of thing that folks posting on this thread write all the time!

Jerome,
I do not suggest that every line must carry the same rhyme -- simply that the challenge becomes more interestingly difficult -- and Sphereworthy -- if it does.

Jean,
Suddenly Ohio seems much closer to Dorset, UK! Welcome to my un-brave old world.

Roger,
Am in awe of your plethora of silvers as well as your patience and persistence in attempting to educate the intellectually challenged.
